The Kelet Duo

Hungarian violinist Katalin Viszmeg and Taiwanese pianist Pi-Hsun Shih, (The Kelet Duo) perform breathtaking varied repertoire, committing themselves to the performance and promotion of music from the East, embracing both the folklore and classical cultures of their respective origins.
Ms. Viszmeg earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the Franz Liszt Music Academy, Budapest, Hungary, and has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician with various ensembles in Hungary and the United States.
Ms. Shih is a collaborative pianist, performing with musicians throughout North and South America, China, and Taiwan. She has served on the piano faculty at Mount Holyoke College, and has earned her Master's Degree from Boston University, and her Doctorate from the Hartt School.
Both Katalin and Pi-Hsun reside in Connecticut, and are currently on the faculty of the Hartt School Community Division. They are both former members of the Hartford-based ensemble, New World Trio.
Music by Beethoven, Bartok, Yi, Korngold, and Kreisler will be heard.
